The Academy Awards (also known as The Oscars) were held Sunday night in Los Angeles, and here in the UK that meant staying up late to watch them. I mean 1am late. But nevertheless the Oscars were worth staying up for.
I'm a huge film fan, a cinephile. And so I thought I would bring something new to my blog where I can record and recommend new films that I have never seen before each year in a list. Much like the GoodReads challenge I will challenge myself to watching a certain amount of new films. I currently use the Letterboxd app to record what films I have seen and leave reviews so I will use that in partner with the annual film watching list.
Here it is again, the annual countdown of how many books I have read in the year. The last couple of years I had done so well in achieving the target or reading more than what I had initially set myself. This year was different. I had set myself a target of 30 books and I only read 20. A lot of the time I felt unmotivated to read throughout lockdown but some books I whizzed through and others I struggled with.
It's been a weird old year 2020. There have been many negatives to the year but equally as many upsides too. I've made some amazing memories this year despite spending half of the year in some sort of lockdown or tier restriction. But now a new year is afoot I thought I'd reflect on my end of year favourites...
