May Favourites

Artist & Album: Days Are Gone - HAIM
I heard The Steps play on the radio about two weeks ago and have had it stuck in my head ever since. So naturally I had to crack out HAIM's discography and listen to their two albums, Days Are Gone and Something To Tell You in the lead up to their third album which will be released in June named Women In Music Pt. III. I love their music and their varying styles throughout each album. You are guaranteed a foot tapping bop with HAIM's music and listening to their songs puts me in a good mood instantly, like get up and have a solo dance party around the room.

Film: To All The Boys: P.S. I Still Love You
I have posted a review on this film here if you wish to read it. Released back in February I finally got round to watching this film and did enjoy it. I didn't love it as much as the first in the trilogy (third film currently in post-production) but I found this a cute sequel that delves into the different relationships Lara-Jean encounters. I love Lara-Jean and her quirky characteristics, and how in this segment she has to deal with being in a relationship for the first time alongside rekindling a friendship with an old crush, John Ambrose McClaren.

TV Show: New Girl
New Girl has come back to Netflix UK and I couldn't be happier! I have started watching it again from the very beginning and I realised that this has become my new favourite sitcom to watch, since the likes of Friends and The Big Bang Theory, and that includes quoting some of the more memorable scenes/episodes. I love Jess (played by Zoey Deschanel) and her quirky persona and the shenanigans she gets herself into, as well as Nick (Jake Johnson), the pessimist who you can't help but laugh with and have a slight crush on. The cast is amazing and perfect for the show and I always find watching it lifts my mood.

Book: Where The Crawdads Sing - Delia Owens
I've been in a bit of a reading slump during the month of May after finishing Warm Bodies by Isaac Marion, I then couldn't decide what to read. With that I kept putting it off and off. I eventually got talking to friends and fell in to a deep abyss of book recommendations and decided to start with this one. Although I have not finished this yet I'm really loving the feel and tone of the novel. It is very gripping as the story jumps between two decades and as you read further into the novel they slowly intertwine and connect the mystery together. The story follows the life of Kya, also known as the Marsh girl, and the mysterious death of Chase Andrews.

Podcast: Zane and Heath Unfiltered
Despite listening to a few different podcasts on and off this year I find myself going back to this one a lot. I love the friendship that Zane and Heath  have and their podcast is the perfect extension of it and is just as funny. I watch the podcast on their Youtube Channel and whenever I watch it I love the way they get so wrapped up in a conversation and how it always makes me smile or laugh. I love that Mariah and Matt are just as involved too and it reminds me of my friends and the way we can always laugh and have a discussion about anything and everything.
