Little Mix: LM5 Tour 2019

1st November 2019
at The O2 Arena, London.

Man, I feel like Cleopatra
Joan of Arc, Queen of Hearts, yeah
Tonight it's only me that matters

Oh, you are the feminist type?
Hell yeah I am!

On Friday the 1st November I, along with a small group of my friends, headed to London to see Little Mix for a fantastic night of good music and great performances. We were about to see their LM5 Tour and on the first sold out show at The O2.

Before the arena opened we had tickets to Sky Backstage, an offer exclusive to Sky customers that allows you to get early entrance in to the arena, an hour before the doors open. Once inside the Sky Backstage area there is a multitude of things to do: have your photo taken, get glitter (festival style) on your face, have your nails painted or decorated, have an instagram frame-style photo, alongside food and drink available at two different bars. There is also plenty of seating available and enough to relax and chill before the night begins.

Sky Backstage is situated behind and above the stage. Although you can not technically see the stage you can hear the music playing in the arena and the opening acts perform. We actually stayed in the Backstage area till just before Little Mix came on. So although we did miss watching the opening acts, we still heard them.

Opening for Little Mix were two acts, Mae Muller, and New Rules. Mae Muller is a recent up and coming artist from London and has released songs such as Anticlimax, and Jenny with an album she also released this year aptly titled Chapter 1.

New Rules have also made a path in the 2019 up and coming music. The three piece band have produced hits like 24 Hours, Fix Somebody and Call It and to then open for Little Mix all within the same year I'd say both of the artists are ones to look out for.

Then it was time for the girls to come out. Little Mix gave an astounding show. Absolutely brilliant! Their set design was unbelievable and managed to create a party atmosphere for their tour. They had laser lights beaming around the room and pyrotechnics. The theme was relevant to what they were trying to represent with their tour, female empowerment. Little Mix's set list was also great, they performed all the best songs and I wish they could have performed more.
Also shout out to their crew of dancers who are fantastic. It's always good fun to see their dancers come back each tour to support them on stage.

Although the tour was a celebration of mostly songs from their LM5 album I always love when they sing Secret Love Song Part II. Jade is such an advocate for the LGBT community and it's so lovely for them to perform this song and really give their LGBT fans their moment. I love the set design of this performance too. They were floating above the crowd and their platform glowed with rainbow LED lights. This song is always an iconic moment of their tour and always great to watch.

Some of my favourite songs that they performed on the night were Joan of Arc, The Cure, and of course closing with Touch.

Little Mix were phenomenal and had everyone up and dancing that night and as always each tour gets better and better.

Leave a comment down below of your favourite Little Mix song.

Enjoy x
